Hi!  I'm Kristie and I am the Kreative Toad.  Born and raised in Northern California, I've been creating for more than 50 years.

I think Kreative Toad was born out of a need to have outlet for all my different kinds of creations. Over the years, so many people had asked me where I sell my stuff, and at the time I didn't. It was hard to think of letting go of all the unique, one of a kind items I had put so much time into. I wanted to keep it...all of it. They had ALL become my favorite. But for me, creating is like breathing, and the house was filling up fast. So, I started Kreative Toad and actually started (gasp) selling my wares. It was (and still is), very exciting to see that people genuinely like my stuff. For that, I am incredibly grateful.

 I don't really consider myself an "artist".  Talented? Maybe. Creative?...Toadally!  Mostly because I just like to "play" 'til I come up with something I like.   

I call those times my "what if" moments. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. And no matter what the media, be it fabric, leather, metal, wood, whatever, I'm not afraid to try and ALWAYS learn something along the way.

 I took a small silversmithing class through the local community center years ago, and the first night we learned how to make a ring. Second night was finishing the ring. And by the third night, which I can't even remember what it was about, I was off and runnin'. I had come to class with several items I had made at home. During that 3rd class, someone asked the instructor about me. They asked, "How come she can do all that already?". The instructors' response was..."because nobody told her she can't".  Those words have forever been instilled in me and push me to try new things.

 I really hate the idea of being pinned down to one type of craft and I'm pretty sure it shows in the types of things I create.
